Dash of Soy was founded in 2019 by Elaine Sher, who left the corporate world after 20 years to pursue her passion for sharing healthy and delicious homestyle Cantonese food inspired by her hometown, Hong Kong. She is also a guest instructor at The Pantry, PCC Markets, and Book Larder. Dash of Soy has created a platform for other chefs to teach here too - all People of Color, all women. Dash of Soy donates regularly to non-profits supporting women, minorities, and LGBTQIA+ communities.
Testimonials
“I arranged the dumpling and mochi classes for our remote work socials via Elaine at Dash of Soy. These classes were exceptional, delicious food and brilliant hosting. I cannot recommend Elaine highly enough, we will definitely use her again :)” - Nadia Stones
“Elaine was a fantastic teacher, and made cooking fun and easy for someone like myself with little experience. Thanks for the wonderful meal and experience, Elaine!!” - David Amiot
“Had Elaine as a teacher for my son's mochi cooking class. I found Elaine to be so incredibly patient, quick to help answer questions, stop to ensure that all questions were indeed answered and accounted for.” - Erick Martin
